Closing event Biodiversity-Positive Food Systems
We are excited to invite you to a special symposium on the Wageningen Campus. This event is a unique opportunity to engage with the latest insights and innovations in biodiversity-positive food systems from Wageningen University & Research (WUR). Key note speaker will be Dan Saladino, author of 'Eating to Extinction'.
WUR is increasingly integrating the domains of biodiversity and food. The research programme 'Biodiversity-positive Food Systems' aims to provide the fundamental knowledge for innovative pathways that enhance biodiversity and ecosystem services on fields, landscapes, and value chains. This programme explicitly combines feasible production, supply- and demand-side food system efforts with opportunities for crop diversity and conservation of natural biodiversity in the landscape.
Goal of the Day
- Presenting the key learnings from our ongoing research and initiatives;
- Collaboratively brainstorming on how you can implement these insights in your business or field;
- Exploring pathways to move forward together, accelerating nature-positive solutions in the food system.
Dan Saladino, BBC journalist and author of the book Eating to Extinction, will open the programme with a keynote lecture. He will also provide a reflection at the end of the day.
